This is Fall…

We’ve had a rough couple of weeks. The relentless rain ruined our weekend days for outdoor play anyway. Indoors we found some solitude in cooking and baking and crafting, but we like to hold off on that for our winter months.

Today we’re enjoying our third dry day in a row. I’m able to sit outside with a fire and my coffee while soaking up some beautiful sun.

The air is cool, but the rays are warm and tickle my face. This is the magic of fall. The colors are so vivid and the air has a sweet pungent smell.

I relax to the sound of a calming crackle coming from the fire. Honking geese fly over no doubt kicked up from a hungry hunter. A distant crack from a rifle or shotgun doesn’t startle me, but makes me smile. A youth hunter may have just bagged his first buck or someone might be having fresh duck for supper.

I am enjoying this day! I hope you are too!

Is this what growing up is like?

All right so something is definitely wrong with me. I was asked by a girlfriend to go out on Friday night. Since it was Wednesday my first thought was, “Boy I’m pretty tired not sure if I will be up to it.”

If that’s not bad enough I find out there is a band playing at the new Brewery on Friday night.

The Lake of the Woods Brewery just opened and it has Marvin Windows and Doors. I’ve been there to see the products, but have not been a patron. I’ve wanted to try their beer and sit by the scenic doors watching the beautiful Warroad River, but just haven’t had the chance.

Here was my chance! And guess what my thought was? “The band doesn’t start until 9pm? What the heck? I’m not staying that late!”

Oh boy, what is the matter with me?
