"Dwelling in the past or worrying about the future impairs with your ability to enjoy the present."

…Lea Cordon

My goodness isn’t this a good quote today. I stifle myself so many days worrying about what will happen next and what may become of my children. I often have to say out loud to myself, “let God worry about it.”

The truth of the matter is and it took me a long time to decide to believe this, but what happens will happen anyway. Even if spend an entire day worrying about how something will go, it will still go. Give it to God and pray for guidance. But really listen to him, don’t pray and then keep worrying.

Have a great day!

The word holy is used as a description to make a big impact or put more emphasis to a reaction. Such as holy cow. I was just blown away today when one of my mentors told me this word should be reserved for speaking of our God. He is Holy! That should be the reason we use that word. It really affected me when she mentioned it, because I have been trying not to use the Lord’s name in vain. Now I realize this is another weakness I possess. I have been miss using this AWESOME word.

One of the things that may get in the way of people being lifelong learners is that they’re not in touch with their passion. If you’re passionate about what it is you do, then you’re going to be looking for everything you can to get better at it.

…Jack Canfield

What are you passionate about? I have a couple of passions, but I can tell you right now I am not in touch with them as much as I should be. I like this quote. It made me think a little bit about how I have been wasting my time with certain things. I am passionate about Christ and I want to learn more about him. I always seem to get side tracked with the “how to fix what’s wrong with you” studies. Instead of who is Christ and how do I become more like him. I think I just had an AHA moment!!!

The Farmer’s Market

I was just browsing Facebook and saw something about a Farmer’s Market and it reminded me of when we were in Wisconsin over the 4th. I had the opportunity to go to the Farmer’s Market in Red Wing, MN.  It was great!  I bought new red potatoes, new yellow onions(dirt free, onions extra!) and Mel bought some radishes.  We made the best potato salad I have ever tasted!  And it was fresh.  I wish I would have taken a picture.  Yum!

Back online

I finally got my e reader to recognize our wireless internet. For the longest time it would tell me to ask the owner for their password. Unfortunatly the owner couldn’t remember setting one up, fortunately none of the hoodlems in the toolies will be able to use my wireless either! The country folk will get that one.

Exodus 19:20

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.

Wow! A treasured possession. That is quite a promise from our God and Father! I love this verse and it caught my attention right away. I hope that everyone who reads this post is blessed like I am to know that God is my savior and that I am his treasured possession.

Live today on this earth as if it will be your last. God is watching. He has the plan, we do not.

The Weekend

I had a three meal cooking day yesterday!  I know I know some people prepare gourmet meals for their families for every meal.  Well that is not me.  I love to cook don’t get me wrong, but I must have the time and a semi-clean kitchen to accomplish my task or it’s not so fun for me.  When I get home from work at 5:45pm – I don’t feel very gourmet – I feel more like frozen pizza.  Which the kids love, so that is not a problem thankfully.  I try to cook a real meal at least twice a week.  But the weekends when we don’t have plans I try to go all out, because I have lots of time.  This Saturday was it!  I made french toast, hash browns, ham and bacon for breakfast, I made chicken salad for lunch, and pork steak and potato salad with new potatoes from the garden for dinner.  It was a filling day:)
