Chronicles of planning a vacation part 1: Kids or no kids

We have to start by picking the destination. Which in my opinion is a problem all be it a good problem. I am so thankful we can go on vacation at all. With endless vacation destinations right at your finger tips now, it’s so hard to decide where to go. Our first and main priority was what to do with the kids. Do we take them with us? Do we leave them with a sitter? Then came the question from my husband. Can we take just Ben with us? Maybe we should go to Disney in Florida. I would be ok with that if we went as a family. Then I could take the little kids and he could take Ben. I don’t ride rides and that is what they want to go and do. But traveling with the little kids is a lot of work right now. Plus Zander is just barely potty trained and Meri is in diapers. Not my idea of a fun vacation memory. Cramped in a bathroom stall with one on the toilet and trying to change the other’s diaper standing up. Been there done that at the grocery store – not gonna happen on vaction. Sorry!

My respsonse to all of this was I would like to go somewhere alone(with my husband, not myself:)! That means no little people. And where better to get away from kids than Vegas right? We had debated visiting the East Coast again, but when the Vegas bug bit, it bit hard. We both like to go where it is warm and not just warm like a Minnesota summer warm, we like it sweltering! Couple that with the endless entertainment options and wonderful food selection and the chance to have unlimited people watching was just to much to compete with. Vegas it is!

I love living in the toolies!  I can grab my crystal coffee mug and head out to the deck to enjoy the peace and quiet that mother nature brings in early spring.  The frogs, the birds and now my cranes are here too!  What an awesome gift today is.  I hope that eveyone is touched by something fantastic and out of this world today.  Have a great Wednesday!

Hello there!

Let me start by saying I am not that afraid of snakes.  However when the joker of the Circus comes into the tent with an 8 foot python I tend to get the willies!

Mitch wanted Ben to take a picutre with him and the snake.  Ben didn’t want anything to do with it, so I decided to hike my big girl panties up and take the picture so Ben wouldn’t be afraid.  I did and the picture pretty much speaks for itself.

Enjoy the day!Erickson's go to the circus!

I am still here

I have not been on here for awhile and I apologize for that!  My friend at work, Nancy, is jet setting all over Europe for two weeks and I am filling in for her job.  Wow!  It’s way more work than just my job and I am doing both.  It’s been interesting and challenging.  My brain is very tired at the end of the day.  Not to mention when I get up in the morning I am dragging my behind around the house.

The morning is when things get done at my house.  I am a working fool early in the AM.  However if I can’t drag myself out of bed early enough then I don’t get as much done.  Of course coffee helps!

I am back on the strong go juice in the morning.  I still drink 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular at work, but in the AM I need my pep!

I will post another excerpt from the story I am working later, but for now I hope a sunny day is in store for each and everyone today!  If the weather’s cloudy – make it sunny in your heart:)
