Found this on Facebook this morning and it’s really needed today!  Everyday would be a more accurate assessment, but I am feeling especially pressed down today.

Have a blessed day with all that God has to offer you.

Stranded at home!

Help! I am stuck at home today and I must say I don’t like it at all.  I accomplished quite a bit, but I don’t like feeling like I can’t go anywhere. I have been watching old episodes of Alaska The Last Frontier and I can’t imagine how those people can make 9 months of winter without going crazy. Some of them appear to be crazy, but I would literally lose my mind if I lived there.

I am so grateful for a warm house tonight! -26 windchill right now. I hope that all are safe if you must go out!

My view is pretty dark right now. We are pretty sheltered in the trees so when the clouds parted today there was a beautiful blue sky, but looking toward the road was a nasty mess.

I was listening to a radio program yesterday and it mention Philippians as being the book of Joy.  If you feel you have lost your joy you will find it again in Jesus, not in reading a book or listening to someone speak or even your family and friends.  Joy is a super natural experience.

In reading Philippians I found Paul who was devoted to his people and their salvation.  Paul has his people in his heart.  He prayed for them and their salvation constantly.  I can’t even say that I think about my family constantly.  With all of the distractions around how can we?  He was in jail and being criticized and persecuted and still he prayed for his people.  WOW!  Double WOW!! It shows me how much I let “other” things block me from God’s word and God himself.  No wonder I don’t have joy all the time.

Philippians 1:7

God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

From the study bible explanation – Their love was not based on feelings but on what Christ had done for them.

Read Philippians 1:9-11

Through study of God’s word we may find love and righteousness.  We will be able to block those distractions and discern which are not healthy for us.  We need to do this everyday until Jesus comes.

My thought for the day is in this last verse.  Ponder and absorb what it means to you!

Philippians 1:14

Because of my chains, most of my brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

Many are asking,”Who can show us any good?”

Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord.

You have filled my heart with greater joy

than when their grain and new wine abound.

I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for you alone, O Lord,

make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:6-8

Just let this passage soak in for bit.  Meditate on the words and meditate on what it’s saying to us!

This passage embodies the full meaning of peace for me.  The warmth of God’s light, the great joy and the peaceful slumber.  Do not worry your self to sickness.  God is there to be your refuge.

They’re here! They’re here!

This poem was written when I realized that I was in love with Mitch.  I have modified it from it’s original version just a bit.  I have grown as a poet a tiny smidge since this was written all those 12 years ago!

The First Flakes of the Winter Season

The First Flakes of the winter season are a wondrous sight

The chill is mild, not piercing as February winds might

The therapeutic aroma of wood burning tickles our nostrils

A moonlit picture fills the window in our den, glittering snow and we’re thrilled!

The first flakes of the winter season fall straight from heaven to kiss the earth below

One season is left behind, but another emerges, and so goes the flow

He holds me to ease my fear, my pain, my stress and to show is undying love

The fire crackles, the snow falls, he whispers, “Will You Marry Me?  You are a gift from above.”

The moment is perfect and I know the gift is mine

God brought us together and just in time

For every winter until I pass I will cherish these first flakes of the winter season!

The weather has begun it’s turn from warm summer to cool fall, so I decided to be nice to our bunnies and make a couple of pens in the barn for them.  Well wouldn’t you know at his first chance that male rabbit would invade the space of the female!  Hmmmfff!  I made the cutest little pen for them and he chewed right through the wood separation wall I worked so hard on.  Little stinker.  Poor Stella, so now Buddy has been reinforced in his own space and he better stay over there, but I fear that the damage has been done and instead of cute little Easter bunnies, we may have cute little deer season bunnies!  Anyone looking for cute Holland Lop bunnies?

My big problem? I love the way my pen feels when it’s gliding across a smooth straight line of wide ruled notebook paper. It’s just not as romantic to plunk at letters and watch them appear before your eyes in a magical display of technology. Of course my love of pen to paper is equally shared with a napkin or grocery receipt found in my purse when a burst of inspiration strikes.

I am so torn this morning. I have been wanting a mommy’s day out for two weeks now and today is the day. Only I am going to work. Ike’s! I am nervous and actually less excited than I was yesterday. I am not going back full time. They just have a project they want me to work on. I feel like I should be more excited. I am happy I will get to see my friends and have adult conversations, but on the flip side I don’t get to have breakfast with Meri and Zander or have whatever fun adventure they are planning in imaginary land today. Sad. I know, get over it! I really get the best of both worlds here and haven’t anything to complain about. Have a blessed day, what ever you are doing!
